Charter school applications happen through the AACPS Magnet and Charter Lottery Portal where you can sign in with your child’s AACPS ID number and password and choose New Village Academy from the dropdown menu.

The Lottery Window opened on October 5th, 2025 for the 2026-27 School Year. It closes January 15, 2026. Try to apply before that time, but if you miss the deadline, apply anyway! We will do our best to ensure you get a spot!
Once the lottery closes, lottery numbers are randomly assigned by an independent agency, with lottery weighting for 1) English learners (ESOL), 2) families who are eligible for free/reduced lunch (apply here for this benefit!), 3) local Annapolis residents, and 4) siblings of current students. Based on lottery numbers assigned, students are either offered a seat or, if there are more applicants than spaces available, put on a waiting list in lottery number order. Once you have been offered a seat at New Village Academy, you have 10 business days to complete our commitment form to confirm your seat, or to decline your seat to make room for another family. For help with the application process starting in October, you can call or text us at (410) 216-4626, come to a “Discover NVA!” Information Session, attend a Virtual Q& A with the Principal, linked on our website homepage OR stop by our partner OHLA (Organization of Hispanic Latin Americans) at 80 West Street on weekdays between 8am and 1pm for access to a computer and assistance in Spanish or English.
