New Village Academy is Anne Arundel County’s first free charter school to use public transit instead of yellow buses.
Our small charter school serves a wide area and cannot fund traditional bus service.

Students ride public buses to school for free, similar to programs in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
Public transit lets students stay for after-school activities and travel to locations like Anne Arundel Community College and City Dock.

Parents may also drive students to school.
Our parent organization coordinates carpools when possible.

Students with IEP transportation services should contact the school to arrange required accommodations.

Transportation staff train students to plan routes, use transit apps, and ride safely.
